UVM email quota: inbox – 100MB (as of July 2010) – ETS documentation and suggestions of how to reduce the size of the inbox.

Check inbox usage

Along with the tool on the Account Management page, you will also be shown your usage near the top of the page when you sign into UVM’s webmail.

NOTE: CLICK ON IMAGES TO SEE A LARGER VERSION OF THE SCREEN SHOT.

Showing amount of quota used

You can save emails by moving them out of the inbox and into folders and subfolders. Because the quota is only effective for the inbox, moving messages out of the inbox to other folders will save your emails and keep your inbox within the limits of the 50 MB quota.

If you have emails with lines through them, they count towards your quota, so you will want to click the “Purge Deleted” link that is near the top right of your screen.

Purge Deleted link

If after this step, you find that you have no more emails with lines through them, but you are still using all of your quota, it may be that you have Virtual Trash selected.

Please select Option > Deleting and Moving Messages

Select Option and then Deleting and Moving messages

Make sure that “Use Virtual Trash Folder?” is unchecked.

Uncheck "Use Virtual Trash?"

If this was checked to begin with, once you return to your inbox, you will find all your deleted mail returned with lines through them. You will need to click Purge Deleted to remove them.
